- SYMPTOMS of the Primary Acute form include malaise, fever and coughing. The
- Progressive Disseminated form symptoms may include lymph node, liver and
- spleen enlargement and gastrointestinal or mouth ulceration. It involves a
- spread of the infection from the lungs. The Chronic form in the lungs may
- produce increasing difficulty in breathing and coughing.
- CAUSES are from Histoplasma capsulatum, a fungus that is inhaled in dust.
- TREATMENT. The Primary form usually does not need treatment.
